Anthro”:
(Anne-throw)
1. full of glamour; charmingly or fascinatingly attractive, esp. in a mysterious or magical way
2. full of curiosity, creativity and the cause of great wonder
3. having an air of allure, romance and excitement
We have many brides wanting to emminate the outstanding style of Anthropology, the store that makes girls happy (gross generalization!) However, the distinctive appearance of these stores screams original, eclectic, urban, sophisticated, vintage chic, glamorous, even a little bit of yard sale! The windows and visual displays are so well thought out and most often hand crafted works of art!

We love the eclectic and fun nature of our anthro chic brides! Often the flower palettes are less traditional and more wild with lots of urns, mercury glass and the blue antique mason jars...

proud moment: our sign!

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

It was a big deal when we had our sign made and hung on the building a few months back! It is really pretty and makes us feel more legit and less like squatters. Then one of the sweet hubs even trimmed back a massive pine bough so you can see the sign while driving up to our studio! Maybe next he will paint the awful looking white paint stipe behind the sign... maybe...

getting crafty

We got this great stamper of our logo from etsy and have used it to make tags for arrangements

Our friend Kaelee Denise had too many of these great white cardboard rack card holders so we took them off her hands and stamped our logo on there and loaded them up with our rack cards to distribute around town... then we realized - we need more rack cards! So now we are in the process of choosing new photos from last season to swap out with the current photos... too many to choose from!

some shots setting up...

the table layout for 12 people (there's an empty vase for the bride's bouquet)

calla lilies

tulips!

there is a bath tub in the bathroom at the restuarant so the brides wanted us to fill it with pink rose petals and floating candles.

final tweaks

an elopement and a grounded fed ex plane!

We had a very small wedding last Friday, an elopement actually! The bride was very openminded as to design style so we had a lot of fun coming up with more contemporary arrangementss...
the only real issue was that our flowers were grounded in Indiana due to engine troubles in the plane... not a big deal since it was a small event! All pinks and purple - no white!!!

beautiful anemones filled the bridal bouquet

tulips were fringed

the peonies were intended for the bridal bouquet but since they were tight as cabbages from sitting in the freezing cargo hold for an extra long time... they were used in the large altar arrangement since it would be viewed for many days.

we are so lucky to have a local phalaenopsis grower!

we have been all about some anthuriums lately!
